Ben Edson is the Founder and CEO of VariQ. He founded VariQ in 2003 as a single employee start-up with the vision of providing professional cybersecurity, software development, and IT infrastructure services to federal and state government. As an industry innovator and results-driven entrepreneur, Ben has built an award-winning business that engineers and delivers technical, problem solving solutions while fostering lasting partnerships with industry leaders.
Ben Edson has served on the board of directors for both the Small and Emerging Contractors Advisory Forum (SECAF) and WorkSource Montgomery since 2015. He was awarded the Washington GovCon Executive of the Year award in 2015. In 2016, he received the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce's Small Business Leader of the Year award and the Washington SmartCEO's Family Business Legacy award. VariQ was named Cybersecurity Company of the Year by Montgomery County in 2015, and received the ACG Capital’s Growth Company of the Year award in 2017. Ben earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, and an MBA and Master of Science in Information Telecommunications Systems from the Carey Business School of Johns Hopkins University. VariQ primary customers include the Department of Homeland Security, Internal Revenue Service, and the Securities and Exchange Commission. |
