Derrick Nixon is the Vice President of Security Solutions for KBRwyle Technology Solutions, LLC, a wholly-owned government services subsidiary within KBR.
Nixon joined KBRwyle after 38 years of experience in the military and defense industry. As a retired Marine, his distinguished military career includes serving as a Department of Defense certified Project Officer for the Marine Corps’ tactical intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance ground stations, as well as cybersecurity. During his military career, Nixon was assigned to multiple technology and acquisition commands to include Marine Corps Systems Command in Quantico, VA to oversee the development and delivery of the Marine Corps’ first tactical imagery and moving target indicator (MTI) ground stations. During his years of active duty, Nixon was instrumental in the development of the Marine Corps’ Information Assurance/Cyber security capabilities, processes, and procedures for the audit and assessment of Service-Oriented Architectures and Multi-Level Security solutions. In addition to his military expertise, Nixon holds a Master’s degree from Florida Institute of Technology in Project Management-Information Systems and a Bachelor’s degree in Intelligence Studies from the American Military University. He is a Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Information Security professional, and serves on the South Carolina Palmetto Partner’s Board of Directors for FIRST Robotics competitions for High School students. |
