Trent Perrotto is an award-winning communicator with a proven record of leadership at Fortune 500 companies, federal agencies and international non-profits. For two decades, Perrotto has directed breaking news with global reach, successfully navigated crises, and employed creative uses of emerging new media technologies.
Perrotto is senior director of Corporate and Digital Communications at Honeywell Homes, where he leads external stakeholder relations for the $4.5 billion industry leader for Smart Home solutions. He joined Honeywell in 2016 and has held leadership positions for external communications and media relations across the company’s Home and Building Technologies portfolio.
Prior to Honeywell, Perrotto spent six years as a public affairs officer at NASA, serving as spokesman on agency accomplishments, high-profile missions, policies and breaking news. He began his government service in 2009 at the U.S. Department of State, where he led digital diplomacy initiatives to engage foreign audiences on key issues of international importance, including climate change and human rights.
Before joining the State Department, Perrotto served as communications manager of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, directing public affairs campaigns on foreign policy issues ranging from nuclear nonproliferation to global trade. Prior to Carnegie, he worked as senior account executive at public affairs firm Powell Tate | Weber Shandwick, and was communications coordinator for the Program on International Policy Attitudes at the University of Maryland.
Perrotto holds a master’s degree in Political Communication from the University of Leeds in England and a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from the University of Florida. He lives with his wife and son in Melbourne, Fla.
